Trinty Band win Live and Unsigned and get signed

The final of Live and Unsigned 2011 took place at London’s O2 Arena earlier this month as part of Livefest. Live and Unsigned is the UK’s biggest competiton for unsigned bands.
Trinty Band won the competition they are a band with 5 members and they come from Derby. The band were announced as the winners in the Indigo2, they won the best Urban / Pop / Acoustic final before been named as the best unsigned act beating 10,000 other acts who took part. The judging panel included radio one’s Tom Deacon, the head of BGM Music Michael King, Bez from Happy Mondays and Alex Baker from Kerrang! We first saw Trinty Band at Osfest.

The Trinity Band performed their own song Supernova and their cover of Champion by Chipmunk and Chris Brown. They win £50,000 of investment and management. The bands front man and producer Rukus was unable to believe they were the winners.

Lucy Spraggan from Buxton came second in the Urban/Pop/Acoustic final and was will represent the UK in Australia at the massive Go Connect festival in Melbourne. We first saw here live at the Osfest and were pleased to read on her twitter that Lucy Spraggan has signed a record contract with BGM / Future Music Records

The Alternative title was won by Robbie Boyd Band with Slick Minded Individuals second . The rock section was won by Scottish band Loud n Proud. The judges included respected rock Daniel P Carter from the Radio 1 Rock Show. The indie final was won by Filthy Habits and the runners up were The Dirty Tricks from Cheltenham this award was judged by Gary Powell from The Libertines and Adam Perry from The Bloodhound Gang.

The live fest held at the same time saw performances from Tinchy Stryder, Zane Lowe, Roll Deep and The Hoosiers
