Bestival 2013 HMS Bestival sailed off Triumphantly
The Bestival 2013 was an amazing success, they celebrated the 10th Birthday with a Marine theme, so it was all aboard the good ship HMS Bestival. 10 of thousands descended on the Isle of Wight, as the festival rocked out to some of the best bands around.
This year there was a new Arena called the Port, amazing headline sets from superstar DJ Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim. The big Dogg the one and only Snoop Dogg, and then the amazing legend that is Elton John played out the end of an unforgettable festival.
We all had an amazing time on board HMS Bestival huge seas of people in the crowd with amazing fancy dress costumes.

“Ahoy shipmates! Sadly it’s now time to disembark the good ship HMS Bestival and pack up The Port till next year. Words fail us in the Bestival office as to how fantastic a crowd you guys were and what a spectacle you all made right across the weekend, so big up and respect to all of you. Thanks to Mother Nature for a nearly all sunny show and we hope you all enjoyed all the amazing live acts, DJs, films, comedians, walkabout and actors as much as we did. A vintage year for Bestival and we owe it to all of you. We’re off to wash our hair and think of a theme for Bestival 2014. Get ya thinking caps on!”
Ok there was some rain, but then it would not be a British festival with out a few spots of rain. The rain never dampened the festival goers spirits. After the rain came sunshine and amazing smiles all round..
Fat Boy Slim took the crowd to new levels of excitement as he headlined the main stage on the Friday Night he was buzzing saying it was
“one of the classic gigs of the year!”
The whole festival was climaxed with a very rare festival performance from Elton John and his band.. Now Elton has played shows in every corner of the world but when he came off stage he said this was “One of the best evenings of my career. Amazing!”
The Elton John Bestival set is available to buy, the whole concert was recorded live and is available to buy with proceeds from sales going to charity, One of the charities to benefit is the Isle of Wight Youth Trust which offers counselling, advice, information and support services to young people aged 25 and under on the Isle of Wight.
The bestival show by Elton John was his first festival since 1969 !!! so this album will become a collector’s item
