Sonisphere secret shows and even more bands
Just when we thought the booking sheets were full and Knebworth Park couldn’t possibly hold any more rock, Sonisphere organisers have announced ever more bands set to join their metal extravaganza, taking place between the 8th and 10th of July.
Joining the Bohemia stage will be grunge revivalists Japanese Voyeurs, as well as well esteemed band Lower Than Atlantis, who hail from just down the road in Watford.
Bringing the party to the Jagermeister stage will be newbies No Americana and thrash foursome Turbogeist, and the Red Bull Bedroom Jam stage will play host to rap rock ravers You and What Army.
However, any festival fan will know the big draws lie not only in live music, but in some stellar DJ slots. Spinning all manner of rock classics will be BBC radio one rock show host Daniel P Carter, known for championing many a new rock act including past and present Sonisphere heroes We Are The Ocean, Bring Me The Horizon and You Me At Six.
Backing up P Carter will be the equally as influential Ian Camfield of XFM fame, returning to compere the Apollo and Saturn Arena stages.
If you’re not excited yet, there is more news to come. Designed perfectly to combat the post-concert depression after the big event, Sonisphere have lined up a series of intimate, secret gigs from some of the stars of this year’s lineup, all in aid of the teenage cancer trust. Whilst the band have not yet been confirmed, the gigs will be occurring June 15th at Kingston Peel, followed by June 27th at London Barfly, with a wrap party at Manchester Roadhouse on July 14th.
