Shrewsbury Fields Forever takes place on 17-18th September 2011 and dance music is catered for by the Subsoundz/ Planet of The Breaks Dance Arena cos that is just one of the dance arena’s – there is that one and The Invasion dance arena too.

If the likes of The Charlatans, Zane Lowe and Fenech Soler on the main stage is not enough for you check out the Subsoundz/ Planet of The Breaks dance arena where you will find an equally incredible line up of talented and diverse acts.

Saturdays Acts.

Chase and Status (DJ set) ft. MC Rage:

With their smash hit top ten album “No More Idols” featuring collaborations with the likes of Plan B, Cee-Lo Green, Claire Maguire and Tynchy Stryder it is obvious why these guys have achieved such incredible success. Regularly tipped as the world’s No1 Dance act, the likes of “Hitz” and “Fool Yourself” are a sure bet to get the place jumping.
Wilkinson:

Ram Records’ new signing, and regularly remixing big big tunes- Wilkinson has been making music since the age of 9 when he was bought his first drum kit. He is one to look out for if you ask me, and I am looking forward to seeing what he brings to the festival.

Escape:

Escape, who traces his influences back to the summer of love days 1988, was inspired by his brother (T-Zone) from a young age. He uses a mix of techno, acid house and hip-hop to create his unique sound, a sound that is a sure bet to go down well with the crowd.
Double XL b2b Jaunty Base:

Tricky
Swell
Naypan
Hoffy
Darkbeatz
Dubz
Ben-Jammin
Lynch

Not really a lot more I can say on that really is there? Some of the best DJ’s and MC’s in the world, performing in Shrewsbury….. Nothing short of spectacular.

Sundays Acts.

Krafty Kuts:

Without a doubt one of the world’s best and most influential breakbeats DJ. Martin Reeves aka Krafty Kuts is worshiped throughout the world, and the awards he has notched up speak for themselves. Best International DJ at the Australian Dance music awards, Best Breaks DJ at the M8 Ibiza awards 2006, which, by the way, was his first year on the Island. I mean, come on? What more do you want in an act?!

DJ Woody Turntables in Technicolor:

Described by some as “one of the most creative forces in DJing the UK scene has ever produced” DJ Woody is quite possibly one of the most innovative DJ’s the world has ever seen. Having helped Vestax design the world’s first ever musical turntable. His “turntables in Technicolor” show has taken the world by storm, with him creating an original, and dammed right phenomenal audio/ visual DJ performance using 100% original material.

DJ Derek:

DJ Derek, a ska, reggae and soul DJ who is a legend in his own right will be appearing on Sunday. After spending nearly 20 years working as an accountant he re-discovered his love for music and began playing DJ sets at Glastonbury and The Big Chill, where he is still a regular now. Oh and did I mention he is in his 60’s?!!! Legend!

The Anomalies:

With their breakbeat/hip-hop/indie sound The Anomalies are going to blow you away. From the (not so) ghetto of Hereford this group of lads combines traditional hip-hop beats with their love of indie bands. Performing as a six piece this band features a DJ, drummer, beatboxer and bass player. Combining tracks such as “employee of the month” and freestyling about random words given from the crowd, you do not want to miss this lot.

DJ Switch:

DJ Switch is the first ever DJ to play the Proms- performing “Concerto for Turntables” in 2011, he has wowed the world with his phenomenal scratching skills. Starting at the tender age of 11 he has won numerous awards, including 3 back to back world DJ championship titles, as well as 3 consecutive UK supremacy and team titles. He has shared the stage with the likes of Public Enemy and is a regular on Radio 1 and 1xtra. In 2010 he performed the closing set at both Glastonbury and Bestival, so, having him on the Shrewsbury Fields line up is a real coup.

Deviant and Sonny Woods:

What makes planet of the breaks so tasty? Is it the incredible mix of beats? From hip hop to funk, house to breaks, everything goes- so long as it has personality. The founder of this legendary event- Sonny Woods is joined by the superb DJ Deviant for some back to back debauchery. Expect the unexpected with these two, but above all, expect to be entertained.

So, there you have it. The official Subsoundz/Planet of The Breaks Arena line up. There will undoubtedly be more breakers, beatboxers and acts appearing throughout the festival. But, its looking pretty tasty already don’t you think?!
I will be there on behalf of Love Music News, if you see me going crazy for Chase and Status or The Anomalies, or anyone else for that matter, be sure to say HI! =)
