Rumours on Twitter about Adele having throat cancer are ‘100% false’
Online rumours that Adele has throat cancer have been strongly denied by the singer’s representative and record company.
Adele was forced to cancel tour dates in America in October, as well as six gigs in the UK this month, due to Adele having some vocal cord problems. The singer was due to play in Wolverhampton, Blackpool, Bournemouth, Cardiff and Plymouth.
However twitter rumours speculated that there was more to Adele’s condition than people where letting on, some stating that Adele had a more serous condition and was actually suffering with throat cancer.
A resprestative for Adele said “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal cord, All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false.”
Doctors have advised the 23-year-old to rest her voice and cancel all her promotional appearances for the rest of the year. As you can imagine this is a very frustrating time for Adele. In October 2011 Adele posted a blog
“Guys, I’m heartbroken and worried to tell you that yet again I’m experiencing problems with my voice. It’s ridiculous I know! I can’t believe it myself. I follow all the advice I’m given and stick to regimes, rules and practices to the best of my ability but it seems to simply not be enough.”
“I’ve been offered the chance to not tour at all to save anything like this from happening again but I simply hate letting you down.”
Get well soon Adele
Ticket holders for the cancelled shows, which had already been rescheduled once due to a chest infection, can get a refund from the point of purchase.
