Planet of the Breaks Krafty Kuts at The Buttermarket Shropshire Friday April 6th 2012
Once upon a time The Buttermarket (in Shrewsbury Shropshire) was the place to be. Whatever your style- Indie, Dance, Hip-Hop, Funk or Soul. Unfortunately, the building has been somewhat neglected over the years, with people desperate to make it work without having the necessary funds to get it off the ground.
All change this year though, after a (not too shabby) £1 million refurb, The Buttermarket reopens just in time for Easter Bank Holiday, and I am here to tell you all about Good Friday…. And man is it going to be good!!
The legend that is KRAFTY KUTS will be performing an exclusive set in the newly refurbished Buttermarket. Without a doubt one of the world’s best and most influential breakbeats DJ’s. Martin Reeves aka Krafty Kuts is worshiped throughout the world, and the awards he has notched up speak for themselves; Best International DJ at the Australian Dance music awards, Best Breaks DJ at the M8 Ibiza awards 2006, which, by the way, was his first year on the Island. I mean, come on? What more do you want in an act?!
KRAFTY was one of the very first (Planet of the Breaks) guests over 10 years ago, so they thought it fitting that he joined them again with an exclusive ‘tailored’ set celebrating those fun funky sounds. The reopening also coincides nicely with the Launch of his brand new LP ‘Lets Ride’, so expect a massive celebration that night! Playing a mix of Breakbeat, funkin’ hip hop, drum and bass, electro swing, reggae and some old school vibes, Krafty will be joined by ye olde faithful Deviant and Stet- Sonny Woods Snr and guests.
Have I mentioned that this is just room one…………..?!
Room 2: SubKutz and Elements presents “Underground House Sessions”. “A diverse selection featuring Technotis, Emerson da Silva, Jak-in-House, ADK, and Johnny Flash (old school set).
Room 3: Krap Disko: Funk n soul, rare grooves, reggae, disco anthems, mash-ups and everything else inbetween. Also featuring some Go Ape DJ’s to tickle your tastebuds!
The will also be a new live visual concept show from the incredibly talented “Blend Visuals”and breakers ripping up the floor! As well as the awesome “Funktion1” Sound system fitted in every room- used throughout the world at the biggest and best clubs and festivals it is sure to blow the roof off at The Buttermarket!
So, by now you should all be thinking “Wow!!! That sounds bloody awesome! How much is it and where the devil is Shrewsbury?!

The Buttermarket is oh-so conveniently located a stone’s throw away from Shrewsbury train station. Shrewsbury itself is located about an hour from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool , and less than three hours from London! Absolute perfect location for a booming bank holiday party!
