Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson quits Leeds band

Kaiser Chiefs drummer and songwriter Nick Hodgson has announced he has left the group.

He revealed the news on Twitter, saying that he’s moving on “after 15 spectacular years” with the Leeds rockers. An official statement from the band confirmed that Hodgson’s last show with the band was at the Reading festival in August.
Front man Ricky Wilson has said the band will continue. Wilson tweeted a message saying: “We’ve all had a while to get used to it – we’ve got a bunch of shows next year and things are sounding great in the studio.”
The band have organised a UK tour for February and March 2012. They’re also due to support Green Day on their UK stadium tour next summer. Although, the Kaiser Chiefs are yet to reveal any news about Hodgson’s replacement.

The band says they plan to continue. They will open the new Leeds Arena Next September
