Justin Timberlake to headline Wireless Festival 2013
Wireless is the master of the one-offs. The megastars that seem mysteriously absent from all other lineups often crop up as headliners for one day of this now olympic status event. This year, expectations were surpassed in the form of Justin Timberlake. Perhaps one of the most acclaimed male soloists since the turn of the millennia. As a performer, there is nobody slicker. Cuts like ‘Rocky Your Body’, ‘SexyBack’ and ‘My Love’ will be executed with a world class precision, zero vocal imperfections and a level of charisma and Hollywood mystique that is absent from modern showmanship. Not persuaded, the first day of the festival is also playing host to Grammy/ Brit and critics favourite Frank Ocean who is playing what looks like his only UK date of 2013 as it stands. The soul element of the landscape is also represented in the form of Miguel, John Legend and Trey Songz. Oh yeah, and some guy called Snoop Dogg. ‘Gin and Juice’? ‘Drop It Like Its Hot’? You might have heard of him. Tickets are on general sale now. Don’t miss this. Timberlake is the tip of the iceberg. Granted, it’s a good tip, but my oh my, that iceberg can only get better.
