FBI release files on Notorious B.I.G
FBI agents spent nearly two years looking into whether LA police officers were involved in the death of The Notorious B.I.G. in 1997.
The American Federal Bureau of Investigation has released more than 100 pages which investigate the rappers murders due to Freedom of Information Act. The files show that the case was closed in 2005 after officers decided there was not enough evidence to carry on.
As yet the murder has not been solved due to agents from New York, LA and San Diego not being able to find a witness to the shooting. Notorious B.I.G was shot after leaving a party at the Petersen Automotive Museum back in August 1997. A black Chevrolet Impala SS pulled up beside the rapper’s GMC Suburban, firing into the vehicle and hitting him four times in the chest.
The newly released files show that Notorious B.I.G, real name Christopher “Biggie” Wallace, was killed by rare armour-piercing ammunition, six month after rapper Tupac Shakur was shot to death in Las Vegas. Over the years there has been much speculation as to the motive of the two killing but still both Rappers deaths remain unsolved.
Earlier this year, CNN reported that the LAPD’s Notorious B.I.G investigation had been “reinvigorated” by fresh leads. It is reportedly working with the FBI and the LA County district attorney’s office on new information. Specifics of these developments have not been disclosed.
