Biffy Clyro to release live album

Capitalising on their incredible surge of popularity in the past three years, Britain hardest touring band, Biffy Clyro are celebrating at the peak of their career by showcasing what they do best: their live show.

Biffy Clyro will preview their first ever live album and DVD set , Revolutions // Live At Wembley’ (out June 27th) with the June 20th release of a live version of their single ‘Mountains’ on 14th Floor Records.

As the band’s most commercially successful single to date, ‘Mountains’ appears to be the perfect choice to introduce the live collection to the world. The original version of reached #5 in August 2008, fast becoming the jewel in the crown of the Ayrshire trio’s fifth album ‘Only Revolutions’, which has sold over 600,000 copies in the UK alone.

However, Simon Neil and co aren’t ones to turn their backs entirely on their older, more experimental material. ‘Revolutions // Live At Wembley’ setlist spans their entire career, ranging from fan favourite ‘57’ which originally featured on their debut EP, right up to the present day with album tracks such as ‘Know your Quarry’ and the controversially X Factor covered ‘Many Of Horror’. The 90-minute set includes numerous other classics from their back catalogue including ‘Saturday Superhouse’, ‘Folding Stars’ and ‘Glitter and Trauma’.

In addition to the nineteen-track CD, ‘Revolutions // Live at Wembley’ also features a DVD filmed at the same show, a full band commentary on the show and a documentary from last year’s T in the Park show entitled ‘Only Reflections’.

The album will also be released in two extended versions: a 2CD / DVD set featuring six extra songs and a very special collector’s edition metal box, which will contain a small, unique piece of the destroyed stage set. The luckiest of fans will find themselves with a part of one of Neil’s trademark fender guitars, or part of the staging.

The release of the album caps an already hectic summer for Biffy Clyro. Their summer live dates include festival headline sets at Sonisphere (July 9th) and Wakestock (July 10th), a main stage set at Glastonbury (June 24th) and two shows as special guests to Foo Fighters at the Milton Keynes National Bowl on July 2nd and 3rd.After the summer, Biffy are set to get back into studio to start demos for their next record. With rumours already abound at who will produce and co star, it seems the Clyro clan are showing no signs of slowing down. Mon the Biff!
