Bat for Lashes blames bus breakdown for missing Benicassim

Bat for lashes has told NME why she missed her Benicassim Festival slot this weekend. Bat for Lashes was meant to have played the FIB Benicassim 2012 festival on Thursday, but she had to postpone her show as she could not make it to Spain on time.
Bat for Lashes whose real name is Natasha Khan explained that it was a broken down bus which casused her to have to pull out playing the top spanish festival.

Natasha explained to NME that

The bus broke down the day before and we spent 24 hours on a motorway layby with just a toilet and no food. The gearbox broke. A bus came and picked us up at three in the morning and then at six in the morning that bus broke down as well. We ended up missing the show because we couldn’t get flights out there, it was a nightmare.

Bat for Lashes was due to honour her show at Latitude in Suffolk today ( July 15), she has played a whole series of festivals around Europe and it seems to have got to her saying

“We’ve also had a situation where we were dragged from the stage because there was lightning hitting the stage… but it’s all good, you take it in your stride. You just start to wonder if it’s your negative vibe or if you’re cursed – it’s just, like, fuck. But hopefully we’ve got all the shit things out the way and it’ll be great from now on.”

Bat for Lashes festival schedule has still some way to go as she is due to play Electric Picnic in Ireland on 2nd September 2012, and then she finishes off at Bestival in Isle of Wight on 9th September 2012, lets hope the rain holds off and it is not a mudbath like it was at Isle of Wight Festival earlier in the Summer.
