Arctic Monkeys New Single to be released on 11th April 2011
After breaking almost a years worth of silence by posting up a new video last month on their official website (www.arcticmonkeys.com), Sheffield saviours Arctic Monkeys are back with their new official single release , ‘Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair’.
Alex Turner and co have proved in the past that they have rather a penchant for strange single titles, and this is no exception. As the first official release from their upcoming fourth album “Suck It And See”, they are marking the singles introduction to the world by releasing it as an exclusive white label 7″, (backed with album track ‘Brick by Brick’) through independent retail outlets in support of Record Store Day, on Saturday 16th April 2011. The single track will also be available digitally at midnight on Monday 11th April 2011.
The single will also be available on 7″, 10″ and as a digital bundle on Monday 30th May 2011, featuring brand new B-sides, “I.D.S.T” AND “The Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap”. This release will coincide with the bands North American tour, kicking off in Washington on May 17th and finishing with a sold out Hollywood show on June 3rd.
“Don’t Sit Down…” is yet to be played anywhere worldwide, but if “Brick By Brick” is any indicator, expect catchy melodies with dark undertones, sarky lyrics and some jabbing guitars. Business as usual in Monkeys camp then…
The album, ‘Suck It and See’ is released by Domino Records on Monday 6th June 2011.
