Arctic Monkeys Album Pre-Order US Dates and Festival Appearances
Sheffield’s brightest exports Arctic Monkeys have certainly been busy lately. Not content with drawing attention for the visual colour assault that is the video for new single “Don’t Sit Down Cos I’ve Moved Your Chair”, and gaining heavy criticism for the cover of the album it comes from (the cover is entirely plain save for the title in simple black lettering), the band have announced that their long awaited fourth release, “Suck It And See”, is now available to preorder from the official webstore and Amazon, on CD and LP.
All pre-orders from the Arctic Monkeys Store will also receive mp3’s of album tracks “Brick by Brick” and “Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair” instantly upon purchase. While stocks last, eager fans will also be able to get their hands on an ‘iron-on’ embroidered patch.
Additionally, Turner and co are padding out their attempt for world live domination by adding a string of festival and US dates. To complement their appearances at Benecassim, V and T in the Park festivals, they will also be appearing across the pond at both Kanrocksas in Kansas City and at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Both festivals take place over the weekend of the 5th/6th/7th August 2011.This is in addition to a variety of extra US tour dates, including San Francisco and Dallas.
However, before Europe complains that it is missing out on the action; Arctic Monkeys have announced details of 2 additional headline shows in Europe. The band will play 2 headline shows in Berlin & Cologne in Germany on the 20th & 22nd June. Prior to this the band will be performing in Stockholm & Oslo at the beginning of May. Rumours have also been circulating that ticket announcements for a UK winter tour are imminent, following drummer Matt Helders confirmation on Radio 1 that they were hoping to tour the album following the festival season.
