AC/DC launch their own Australian wine label

Australian rock band AC/DC are launching their own range of wine.

AC/DC join other rock groups and artist such as Kiss, The Rolling Stones, The Whitesnake and Iron Maiden, as well as Madonna in launching their own wine label

AC/DC have decided yo name their wine after their biggest hits, which include Highway to hell cabernet sauvignon (AC/DC’s sixth studio Album) , You Shook Me All Night Long muscat (AC/DC’s Signature song from their most successful album Back in Black) and Hells Bells sauvignon (is the first track from their comeback album Back to Black).

The wine will be available in Australia, from Thursday in all Woolworths stores across the country. The group teamed up with Australian winemaker Warburn Estate  for the release.

Woolworths general manager Steve Donohue said “We wanted to make sure that AC/DC’s home fan base could have easy access to their rock icons’ wines,”

“For us it was a no-brainer to make it available nationally, no-one misses out. This is a worldwide phenomenon and a first in the marketplace.”

AC/DC was formed in 1973, after the boys had experienced parts in other local bands with international hits. Malcom and Angus Young  set up the band and named it after their older sisters Margaret Young saw the initials “AC/DC” on a vacuum cleaner, which is an abbreviation for “alternating current/direct current”.The brothers felt that this name symbolised the band’s raw energy, power-driven performances, and a love for their music. Which has been true to their name through out the years, AC/DC have grown from strength to strength and have a large, solid, loyal fan base.

I am sure must will be trying out their new range.
