Ke$ha and LMFAO added to Wireless Line Up
If the line-up for Wireless, Hyde Park’s premier musical festival didn’t already have you counting down the days until the first weekend of July, then the latest additions to the bill just might.
Fresh news out that brash pop warbler Ke$ha has been added Saturday’s bill, definitely got tongues wagging. Performing alongside the already exceptional line-up of Chase & Status, Chemical Brothers and Aphex Twin, Ke$ha hit the down with Flo Rider on the 2009 hit ‘Right Round’ and has been causing havoc on the charts ever since. Releasing her debut album ‘Animal’, the stage is well and truly set for Saturday.
Electro-rap duo LMFAO hail from California, but that doesn’t go very far to explain their downright eccentricity. After storming the chart in 2008 with the summer hit ‘I’m In Miami Bitch’ – later remixed by David Guetta – this year’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ held the number one spot for five weeks. Sure to make a mark on the Wireless stage on the Saturday, grab your crazy sunglasses and as the duo treat you to new tracks from the album ‘Sorry For The Party Rocking’ set to hit down this summer.
Already featuring on the star-studded line-up is soul artist Janelle Monae whose conceptual album ‘The ArchAndroid Suites I and II’ received multiple Grammy nominations in 2010. Encompassing soul, R&B, jazz and funk, the visually striking artist is tipped for making an even bigger mark on the music world in 2011.
French dance due Digitalism return to the UK with ‘Blitz EP’, their first release since 2008. After a host of high profile remixes by the likes of Daft Punk, Depeche Mode and The White Stripes in the wake of their 2007 album ‘Idealism’, Digitalism return to the stage bringing their own brand of electro dance production.
Signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label, US based Jay Electronica and J. Cole will be delivering their own brand of hip hop to Hyde Park. Representing the UK, rapper Devlin along with Dublin-based Maverick Sabre will be raising the game for hip hop this side of the pond.
Along with The Whip, Battles, Alex Metric and Modestep performing on the Saturday, dubstep producer Nero will also be hyping up the crowds with his own breed of bass well into the night.
With less than 6 weeks to go until Wireless festival, sponsored by Barclaycard, the countdown begins here! Stay tuned for more news, updates and previews of artists here.
