Adele beat Madonna Record
Adele is everywhere at the moment. It started with her triumphant live lounge on radio 1, and then a few weeks later a magical Brit Awards performance of Someone like you. Young Adele released her album 21 8 weeks ago, and it has been number one ever since. If she makes it 9 weeks on top of the Official UK Album Chart she will break the record of Madonna for most weeks at number one in the Album Charts by a Female Solo Singer. Adele will beat the record held by Madonna for her Immaculate collection which hit number one way back in 1990. Adele currently has the top 2 albums with her Debut Album 19 moving up 2 spots this week. Adele’s debut album has been in the charts for an amazing 105 weeks. Adele lost the top spot in the Official Top 40 Singles Chart on Sunday to Nicole Scherzinger with her single Don’t Hold Your Breath. However today in the Midweek Singles Chart Adele has regained the top spot. So this weeks single chart could be an amazing race with the two solo artists vying for the top spot.
UPDATE Adele has beaten Madonna’s Record as she holds onto the number one spot for 9 weeks in the Official UK Album Chart
