The Strokes and Slash Replace Blink 182 for T In The Park Line-Up

Returning to the UK for the second summer running after releasing their fourth studio album ‘Angles’ just last week, The Strokes will be shaking up the main stage at the Balado based festival come July. The iconic five-piece hailing from New York City – along with rock god Slash and a host of other top names – are added to inject a shot of surprise into the T In The Park Line-Up, which this year looks set to surpass all expectations.

Famous for their 2001 debut album ‘This Is It’ which won NME’s prestigious ‘Album of the Decade’ award, indie legends The Strokes look set to make T In The Park 2011 a year not to forget. Brought in to replace Blink 182 after their European tour was rescheduled due to “the album taking longer than first thought”, ticket-holders for T In The Park certainly won’t be disappointed. Making his mark as part of Guns’n’Roses and later Velvet Revolver, rock legend Slash will be gracing the stage at T In The Park this year as a fully-fledged solo star. with a performance that will no doubt have even the most die-hard rock fans demanding an encore, Slash is set to make his distinctive mark on Scotland with a history of working with artists from Fergie to Cypress Hill.

Other new additions to the bill are ex-Babyshambles and Libertines star Peter Doherty, NYC’s trio Fun Lovin’ Criminals and UK rapper Devlin. Real-life couple Jenny & Jonny, punk-preachers Mona and New Zealand based Naked And Famous have also been added to the epic line-up for TITP on the weekend of 8th-10th July 2011.

Festival go-ers to the lush Balado set in Kinross-Shire will be spoilt for choice this year across T In The Park’s eight stages packed with artists. keep your eyes and ears open to see next year’s top acts here first as they become part of one of the summer’s strongest bills. Including the hotly anticipated BBC Introducing stage and the favourite Radio 1/NME stage; T In The Park is definitely ready to set the festival season in full swing.
