Reading and Leeds reveals Dance Tent Line Up 2011
In a very impressive attempt to prove their eclecticism, Reading and Leeds have just announced some top class additions to their line-up.
Most notably, the full line-up for the dance stage has been confirmed, and will be co-headlined for the first time by British Trip Hoppers UNKLE and super producers Simian Mobile Disco. Joining the headliners will Sub Focus, one of the biggest names in drum and bass right now, mesmerising DJ sets from Dan Stephens and Joe Ray a.k.a Nero, as well as an appearance from the elusive SBTRKT. Additionally, Reading and Leeds has booked underground emerging rapper Devlin, “the single most exciting show in dance music” from Crystal Fighters, UK post-dubstep duo Mount Kimbie, Reading’s very own anarcho-electro heroes Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Cold Cave who have new material and last but not least D/R/U/G/S.
Also announced were additions to the NME/Radio 1 tent line-up, the second largest stage at the festival. Joining the weekend will be Southern American newbies Mona, ex-Rascal and part-time Last Shadow Puppet Miles Kane, the young up and comers Frankie & The Heartstrings, hard rockers Pulled Apart By Horses, Punk Disco Lovers Funeral Party and well as Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Yuck, Best Coast, Fucked Up and Dananananaykroyd.
The newly expanded line up is expected to be a key factor in increasing this year’s ticket sales. For the first year in several decades, the event has not sold out despite having been on sale since March.
