Firefly Festival 2010 Review

How did the great festivals start? I’m not entirely sure, but, if I’m honest, I would like to think they all started like this;

“Conceived one summers evening amid the burning embers of a bonfire, we had the idea of expanding an annual gathering of friends into an intimate but punchy little music festival…”

Now in its 3rd year Firefly festival, in the Herefordshire countryside, is bigger than ever, but still manages to maintain its original intimacy.
The lineup is handpicked to allow new acts to play along more established/well known artists. This allows an accessible festival experience to be enjoyed by all.
Firefly is the most perfect mix of crazy cool beats with chilled acoustic sessions. Nobody is left out at this festival. Don’t fancy listening to the band or going crazy in the dance tent? – No problem- why not head over to the campfire and pick up one of the readily available guitars and have a jam!
That is the beauty of Firefly: The expected and unexpected fit together perfectly, and all set in a forest clearing, surrounded by miles of beautiful rolling hills. There is no pretension, but, there are no expectations either. Imagine a “big” festival, and then imagine it stripped back to its routes….. To where it all began. And there you will find Firefly.
Firefly will be returning on 12 – 14 August 2011, it would be a shame to miss out. A real shame. Check out the Official Firefly Website for more details
