Wham Reunion Rumour of a one off show?

Grab your 80s clothes, and guys get on your speedos as
‘Club Tropicana’ is opening again for one night only. If newspaper reports are to be believed 80s pop group Wham! are to reform for one night only to celebrate 30 years since they hit the music scene. The Wham reunion rumour is not going away and this time it seems more likely than before.

Wham! were made up of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, and they split up back in 1986, but the Daily Mirror has run a story today saying that George Michael and Ridgeley are to perform together to celebrate 30 years of their debut hit single.

A insider is quoted as saying

They probably won’t do a long tour or release new material like Take That but they do want to commemorate the event with a big gig… and an even bigger party afterwards!

George Michael has always said that he would not reform Wham! ever but his last single “White Light” was said to acknowledge the 30 year celebration and his reluctance to perform as Wham! one last time may have waned.

Andrew Ridgeley has been away from the music industry pretty much since the band split in the 80s wheres George Michael has become one of the most successful Male Solo Artists in the World.

Wham! sold over 25 million albums over 4 years with huge hits like wake me up before you go go, and Club Tropicana.

George Michael is not one for records he said recently.

“Although I know the music industry tradition on such occasions is to list the hundreds of millions of albums sold, the number of records broken and awards received over all those years, I would simply like to say thank you.”

A spokesman for George Michael has said there is no truth in the rumours that Wham! are reuniting. Also Andrew Ridgeley is said to have played it down too. However twitter is awash with fans want to relive there youth. There is still lots of interest in the band, Who knows a one off show at say the O2 Arena London still might just happen.

We will keep track of this story and let you know if the Wham! Reunion happens, would you goto a reunion show please comment below.
