Daughter release their 2000th Session “Home”

Daughter are Elena Tonra and her musical and life partner Igor Haefeli are based on the muddy Mississippi River in Rock Island, Illinois, and this month sees them posting there 200th session on You Tube.

This awesome track was a milestone which reached a very special four-track session from the legendary Glen Campbell. Since beginning in February 2006, Daytrotter has given away tens of millions of downloads and countless more streams. In addition to studios in Rock Island and London, UK, Daytrotter sessions are also taped in San Francisco, CA, Asheville, NC,  Nashville, TN and Montreal. A month or so after selling-out Islington’s beautiful 700-capacity Assembly Hall, London three-piece Daughter have uploaded a live video of ‘Home’ being performed at the show to their YouTube channel. The trio have also followed in the footsteps of the likes of Bon Iver, The National & Grizzly Bear by designing an exclusive charity t-shirt for The Yellow Bird Project. The t-shirt retails for $30 and all proceeds go to the charity Mind. Daughter’s debut album is due for release in January 2013. It will come out via Glassnote Records (North America) and 4AD (UK, Europe & Rest of the World).

This is a band definitely to watch out for!
