Random Impulse on tour with Rizzle Kicks

So usually when i go to a gig, i go well prepared, i check out best parking, venue seating/standing arrangements, and then the support acts, so i can arrive when i think the gig will be in full swing, not when the building is half empty with no vibe!

So i took a chance and arrived at O2 Academy Bristol just as the doors where about to open, i sent a quick text to find out who was supporting but received nothing back due to signal failure!!! Having being warned by security that i would need plenty of water because it was going to get pretty hot, i headed for the ground floor area, took my place by the sound techs, and waited in anticipation.

As the place started to fill i realised that this support act  might be good, because the main area was filling fast, so imagine to my surprise when Random Impulse steps on stage. The venue was banging. This grime mc knows how to play his crowd, the showman ship is ecstatic, and creates a wave of excitement through out the venue, the young lads stood next to me, kept repeating how “sik is he” , and i had to agree Random Impulse from North London is pretty cool.

He really knows how to own the stage, and his audience, backed by a bassist, a drummer and a secondary guitarist, Random impulse raps  his own songs while playing the electric guitar. Why this guy is not headlining i have no idea, he has the talent to leave his audience amazed and  wanting more., and i am hoping we will be hearing big things from him this year.

There is something real and grounded about Random that you cant help but be impressed. His love for hip-hop, grime and indie really shows in his work, he combines rap and indie with a little slice of rock. You only need to listen to his first EP, Overload, which hit No5 in the hip-hop charts on its first day of release to understand where i am coming from. However his latest EP, “put it on my card”, really shows his talent to write, very current and relates to so many others. The venue was jumping when Random Impulse started this song, and he left the audience jumping for more.

Love Music News would highly recommended if you get a chance to see Random Impulse, then don’t hesitate it will the best decision you  ever made.
