Glee’s Matthew Morrison Announces Debut Single, Album And UK Tour

It’s time for all gleeks and cheerio’s to get their pom-pom’s at the ready, because everyone’s favourite curly haired choirmaster is coming to the UK.
Glee star Matthew Morrison, aka the eternally optimistic high school teacher Will Schuester, is set to release his long anticipated debut single “Summer Rain” on May 30th 2001, a simultaneous release alongside a self-titled debut album, both on Mercury records.
Co-written by Matthew with Claude Kelly (famous for his works with such pop icons as Bruno Mars, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera), “Summer Rain” is set to be a smash, and a benchmark of things to expect from the album, which will feature duets with Elton John and Gwyneth Paltrow, who had a cameo in series 2 of Glee.
The show has brought Matthew a legion of fans worldwide: it currently ranks as the #1 entertainment program on broadcast television among Adults 18-34, Teens and Female Teens, earning him nominating for Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
With this in mind, it would be no surprise that there will be hoards of teenage girls clamouring to see him perform live in the UK. These calls have been answered, as fans will get to see tracks from “Matthew Morrison” as well as Glee mash-up songs when the star launches his first ever UK tour in June, visiting prestigious venues in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton and London. Expect air punching, dry ice and… lots and lots of Glee.
Tickets are now on general sale from Friday 1st April and are available from all the main ticket agents
Matthew’s self-titled debut album is released on May 30th 2011.
