Making of Star follows the Open Mic Competition on Sky TV

Sky TV, are following the long line of reality tv shows, with a music show on the Open Mic UK Singing competition. A contest where the grand final is at the O2 Arena. The competition music artists Birdy and Hatty Keane. The two part series shows the raw end of the music industry with unprecedented access to a music contest.

The show follows the unsigned acts as they bid for stardom. it is a warts an all show with drama and real life situations as the acts battle on the road as they try to get to the grand final at the O2. There will be backstage dramas, pushy parents and acts going awol, it is from the makers of Pineapple studios and Airline, with the mix of the x factor and the apprentice.
The open Mic competition was founded by Chris Grayston he said “The Open Mic UK shows really can range from the sublime to the ridiculous, and that’s just on stage! Backstage can be just as entertaining with the Open Mic UK staff trying to coordinate hundreds of wannabe pop stars.”

Birdy won the contest before and has had 2 hit singles and is a favourite on radio 1. Last year Hatty Keane won the under 18 comp and runner up of the overall competition last year. Hatty has performed alongside the likes of tinchy stryder, Roll Deep and she is set to support Ed Sheeran and Wretch 32 in the coming months.

The Open Mic on the TV for the first time. Also the Live and Unsigned Competition is set to be followed later in the year. Love Music News will be judging the Sheffield Audition in Febuary which we are really looking forward to covering.
