T in the Park 2011 Bands to See
March……….April…………….May. As each month clocks out and takes its bow we hear more snippets through waves of anticipation and we feel that inflated sense of elation as the summer draws closer to its harmonious climax. It’s June and one thing on everyone’s lips is T IN THE PARK 2011
Tickets sold out within hours (as if there was any doubt) and with the full line up still to be announced it’s obvious just how important this particular weekend in July is. The feverish rush to scoop a ticket gives you an idea of the growing stature and the prominence of this fantastic Festival. As ever that day in February arrives when the initial line up is announced and bang, the internet and every social networking site lights up and is alive with scores of rapturous messages, posts and blogs. T in the Park has not let us down yet and 2011 was not about to be proved to be the exception. DF Concerts has excelled yet again and as the acts are announced one by one, the names delight the face’s of ticket holders across the country.
The Arctic Monkey’s, Foo Fighters, the newly reformed Pulp, Beady Eye, Brandon Flowers, Primal Scream and Tom Jones making his “T “debut are among the artists filling the multi staged venue. We have Cast and Ocean Colour Scene kicking us back to the 90’s and Blondie, The Streets and Coldplay providing some diversity into what is, all and all, a remarkable round up of bands across a huge selection of genres. We also have great dance representations, with Deadmau5, 2 Many DJ’s, Pendulum, Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77, Vitalic, Josh Wink and Diplo.
There are some new acts set to grace the field at Balado and some of those making this incredible milestone in any bands career are Miles Kane, The Vaccines, Everything Everything and The Hurts.
Now is the time to start your plan of action, arrange your roadmap through this huge line-up. You ask yourself “Who will I get to see, what anthems will I be chanting along with” with that you say a wee prayer and hope that your bands don’t clash.
Then……T break the news that The Strokes and Beyonce have been added to the bill. What and who next?
You sit back, take a breath and you look at the line-up and think where will I find the time to go see everyone you have pencilled in and still manage to see the rest of the festivals offerings. There’s the fairground for one and I always look around and think this is the year; this year I’m going on that big wheel but to date I’ve never managed it. We also have the “Health T”, an area where you can go and chill out if you feel it’s all a bit too much and want to last the pace. Not for me, I’ll try that at one of the sound fuelled stages thanks.
Thursday night starts off with a campsite party before the Friday really kicks it in the arse and we will all go that little bit more bonkers, be that little bit more excited and sing that little bit louder. This year is set to be no different, with “Fancy Dress Friday” and its eight stages bursting with a tirade of musical mayhem and splendour.
I just need to remember and hit the campsite showers before each day kicks off as its going to be a sweaty affair.
Every music lover in the country has a ticket or is still trying to get one and regardless of your musical persuasion there is something for everyone.
Come rain or shine T in the Park 2011 is set to be, hands down, the best festival in the UK and them some.
