Rihanna rumoured to be new X factor judge.
It has been rumoured that pop diva Rihanna is to take a seat on the X factor judge panel.
Yet been revealed whether she will take her place in the US or the UK show, producers are hoping that the stars status will improve the shows popularity and most importantly its audience after this year’s series saw the lowest viewing figures for seven years.
Simon Cowell hopes the 24-year-old singer will appeal to viewers and her ‘star quality’ will attract more people to tune in.
The Sun reported yesterday that a source had told them “Simon is a huge admirer of Rihanna and knows she’s star quality. As well as bringing an aura to the panel thanks to her current standing in music, she is also feisty and will make great TV. Simon loves these sort of characters.”
Cowell plans to talk with her over the Christmas period.
Controversially, ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, 23, was said also be in the pipelines; as the source went on to add, “The US X Factor has improved on the first season’s ratings but it’s got some way to go to reach Simon’s expectations. Adding Chris to the panel will certainly create a talking point.”
One of Cowell’s spokespeople however denied the legitimacy of this claim.
Rihannas star attraction might just be what the show needs, after this years disappointing performance.
However, despite the poor viewing figures, this years winner James Arthur is now, not only signed to Cowells label Syco Music, but has also managed to secure himself number one in the UK singles chart with his cover of Shontelle’s Impossible.
For the meantime, fans can look forward to the conformation of Rihanna to headline the Scottish festival, T in the Park 2013 in the coming summer, alongside English folk rock band Mumford and Sons and indie rock band The Killers.
