Host of Top Scottish Talent Added to T In The Park Bill
An array of top Scottish talent has just been added to this year’s T In The Park line-up to make it the most anticipated yet. Hot on the heels that top indie band The Strokes and rock legend Slash were added last week, the bill is rivalled by none, with even more to come.
Big Country, Jon Fratelli, Roddy Woomble, Twin Atlantic, Emma’s Imagination, The Phantom Band, Found and Jack Townes will join the top-notch bill alongside Primal Scream, The View, KT Tunstall, Calvin Harris, Slam and Silicone Soul.
Rock gods Big Country have shared stages with the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan; “To be able to play at T in the park is a perfect opportunity for us to really celebrate our 30th anniversary in Scotland.” After the Big Country frontman Stuart Adamson sadly passed away in 2001, Jamie Watson and singer Mike Peters joined the band as they reformed in 2010 – what better place to celebrate their anniversary than on the main stage at T In The Park?
Going solo from his band The Fratellis, Jon Fratelli will be performing songs from his debut solo album “Psycho Jukebox”. Head bobbingly good the crowd will be in for a treat as Jon returns to the first major festival The Fratellis ever played as a band. Check out his single Rhythm Doesn’t Make You a Dancer:
Adding a touch of folk fairytale to the T In The Park playlist will be Roddy Woombie of renowned Scottish band Idlewild. His latest album offering is “The Impossible Song & Other Songs”, packed with soulfully crafted story-tale melodies to mesmerize the Balado crowd.
Alongside more familiar names are a host of fresh talent just bristling to perform as next year’s possible headliners. From Glasgow The Phantom Band will be working up a storm belting out their current album ‘The Wants’ which covers a multitude of riff-fueled genres. Fellow GlaswegiansTwin Atlantic have already sold out their hometown tour dates, looking set for amazing heights as they release ther debut album ‘Vivarium.’ Check out their amazing ‘Lightspeed’ below:
After winning Sky One’s ‘It Must Be The Music’ Emma Gillespie, better known as Emma’s Imagination makes her much-anticipated debut at T In The Park. Already having two hits in the top ten at the same time, the crowd will be clamoring to see her perform come July.
Edinburgh based Found will also be bringing their glitchy-electro infused sounds to Balado, as the crowd are treated to an insight into their unconventional musical inspiration. Originating as an art movement playing in dingy warehouses and galleries, the alternative Found will play to a completely different scene in the picturesque Balado park.
If that tingling host of Scottish talent wasn’t enough to get you marking the days off the calendar until 8th July, then check out the headliners: Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay and Foo Fighters, with a whole host more acts to be announced. Merging music legends with breakthrough talent in such a picturesque setting of Balado; the atmosphere at T In The Park 2011 looks set to be the best yet. Bring it on!
